Jay Artis Brown Sr. was born on December 31, 1945 unto David “Donahue” and Lucy “Missy” Brown. As the fifth in line of 14 siblings, Jay was nicknamed "Candy" because of his loving disposition, later he became affectionately known to many as "Puddin" because of his forgiving nature.
Jay was employed by Tifton Aluminum for a lifetime of service until their closing, later years he retired from First Product after 13 years of service.
In his younger days Jay met and married Wilma Boston-Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory six children: Tocashema Williams, Shonda (Michael) Peterson, Jay (Laquanda) Brown Jr., Terrance (Melissa) Brown, Fawn Brown, Teanna Brown and a loving God Son, Sam Harris.
He's preceded in death by his grandparents Wince and Victoria Brown, his parents David and Lucy Brown and two grandchildren, Patrick Canty and Junior Williams. Jay is also preceded in death by his siblings: Eric Brown, Victoria Brown and Laconza Brown.
His surviving siblings include: Earnestine Woods, Wyvomia (Fred) Waybright
James Brown, Brenda Brown-Spivey, Julius (Lovette) Brown, William (Linda) Brown, Yasmen Brown-Jones (Dante), Lorenzo Brown, Alarice Brown and Willie Frank Hughes
Jay was truly a man of simplicity who held great honor for his family and his friends. His passion was fishing, hunting and being outside with his dogs.
Jay will be greatly missed and forever cherished as a loving, giving and gentle soul.
