Ms. Emily Frances Davis Harris “Emma Frances” was born on May 7, 1943 to the late Mr. and Mr. Fred Davis Sr. and Cordia Davis in Albany, Georgia.
Emily was educated with the Dougherty County School System, and was a 1961 graduate of Monroe High School.
In 1962 she married Eddie Harris, and became a military wife who traveled extensively throughout the country. They became the parents of two children,
Darryl and Kendra Harris.
Emma Frances dedicated her life to Christ in July of 1956, at Union Baptist Church under the leadership of the late W.M. Davis where she served on the # 2 Usher Board, and the Choir. She truly believed in her faith and prayed daily. She loved her Eastside community and its citizens, with much love and support for the Dougherty High Trojans. She is known to have been employed with the Cable Company, the late Dr. Shirley’s office, Jackson Heights Daycare Center, and the Sheriff's Department (Court House), and J.L. Litman Funeral Home. Working and volunteering with various political organizations was a passion. She was a dedicated campaign worker.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: William, Joel, Bobby, and Robert Davis.
Left to cherish memories of a lifetime are her children Retired Navy Veteran Darryl Harris of Albany, GA; Kendra Hunter Albany, GA. Her brothers: Fred Davis Sr., Albany, GA., Lucas Davis (Luke) of Richmond, CA. Grandchildren: Jalan and Camren Hunter, Albany, GA; Rashad Harris of Jacksonville, FL. Granddaughter: N’ysa Harris of Philadelphia, PA. Great granddaughter Harmony Harris of VA. She also leaves memories to a host of nieces, nephews, God Children, and friends.
