Gloriette L. Swanson-Williams, age 71, of Savannah, Georgia, peacefully departed this life on March 3, 2026, at the home of her daughter. Gloriette was born on December 11, 1954, in Tampa, Florida, to the late Richard Swanson Sr. and Estean Baker-Swanson. She grew into a woman defined by resilience, generosity, and a deep commitment to the people she loved. She built a life rooted in compassion—whether offering a listening ear, sharing wisdom, or showing up exactly when someone needed her most. Gloriette never met a stranger; her warm personality and welcoming spirit brought joy to everyone she encountered. Gloriette received her high school diploma through the Evans County Public School System, where she formed lifelong friendships and developed the strong work ethic that carried her throughout her adult life. In 1986, she married the late James Williams Jr. and was a devoted wife and mother to her family. Their bond remained a source of strength and devotion until his passing. Together, they answered the calling that God placed on their lives through ministry. Gloriette’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her heart into raising her children, guiding them with patience, humor, and unwavering support. As a sister, she was both a confidante and protector. As a friend, she had a special way of making ordinary days brighter and difficult days easier to bear. Gloriette was an exceptional cook and baker who enjoyed sharing her recipes and teaching family and friends in the kitchen. She was also an avid reader and a woman who loved the Lord. Above all, she cherished the simple pleasure of spending time with family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Gloriette was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Estean Swanson Sr.; her husband, James Williams Jr.; her sisters, Mariette Stewart and Debra Swanson-Gadson; and her son, Anthony F. Hall
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her daughter, Monica Hall; her brothers, Richard Swanson Jr , Derrick Stevenson.; her sister, Stella (Tommy) Knight; her brother, Derrick Stevenson; and her brother-in-law, Clarence Gadson Jr., all of whom will carry her memory forward with pride and love. She also leaves six grandchildren: Malcolm C. Hall, D’Anthony Hall, Erik Hall, Quan Hall, Trezure Hall, and Saveyon Hall; and one great-grandchild, Alana Hall. She is also survived by her aunt, Ollie Mae Baker of Claxton, Georgia, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and special friends. Gloriette’s presence, humor, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.Visitation will be held at Moody Funeral Home, 201 Church Street, Claxton, GA, on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
