The staff and management of  J.L. Litman Funeral Service Albany , Georgia are saddened to announce the death of Jimmie Lee Lyons. The family will have a graveside service at Thankful Baptist Church Cemetery  in Newton, GA at  11 A.M. Burial will follow after the service.The late Jimmie Lee Lyons was born November 14, 1953 in Albany. Georgia to the late George Lyons, Sr. and the Edell Edwards Lyons.  He will be dearly missed and cherished by everyone.  Jimmie was a joy to everyone who ever encountered him on any given day. His birth name was Jimmie but many knew him as Casanova and Jimbo.

He was an self employed painter and a worker at Albany Marine Corps Logistics Base for numerous years.He attended the public schools of Dougherty County and graduated from Job Corps.

He departed his life Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at his residence.  He was preceded in death by one sister, Pearlie Mae Atkins and one brother Thomas “TJ” Lewis.  He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories his loving family: Two brothers: George (Hildred) Lyons and Earnest Atkins of Albany, Georgia; four Sisters: Eva Lyons, Willie Mae Greene, Willinda Lyons and Rosetta Jones, all of Albany, Georgia; an Aunt Lizzie Clyde of West Palm Beach, Florida;  He never had any natural children of his own but he had a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews that he loved and adored as his own; a devoted caregiver and friend Sharita Clark, and many sorrowing friends.

He also leaves a group of special nieces whom he watched from infants to adulthood Blossomed into Beautiful women- at any given moment he could be caught telling each of them that they were his favorite niece: Deaundra Greene Webb, Canvakkii Lyons Daniels, LaTresa Greene Heppard and yes everyone knew who that favorite niece truly was! Please laugh because that’s just what he would do after he would say it: MY FAVORITE NIECESSSSSS- as he would pronounce it!  A painter, A craftsman, A drinking partner, A soulful singer, A story teller, A joker, A friend, A buddy, An uncle, A brother, a neighbor- that he was all while sitting on the porch waving as everyone passed by: JIMBO, Uncle Jimmie, Casanova will be missed by all who knew himPlease keep the family of Mr. Jimmie Lyons in your prayers as we reflect the Gracious Memories.
