Margaret Louise Russell Thomas, resident of Forest Park , Georgia was born on September 5, 1934 in Savannah, Georgia. She was the third of three children born to the late Joseph and Margaret Dixon Russell.
She departed this life on January 18, 2021 to be with our heavenly Father.
At an early age Margaret attended Tremont Temple Baptist Church in Savannah, Ga. She later joined Mt. Zion Church in Newark, New Jersey.
In November 2000 she became a member of New Deliverance Baptist Church in Forest Parks, Ga where she was called to Minister the gospel
as an Evangelist.
Margaret’s formal education was in the Chatham County School System in Savannah, Ga. She attended Gadsden Elementary and Beach-Cuyler Junior High School. She later attended Essex County College of Business and completed the Certificate Program for Certified Nursing Assistant in Newark, N.J. ( Where she lived for 35 years.) After moving back to Georgia she attended Central Christian College and graduated August 1996 after studying Christian Education and Life.
In 1952 Margaret married Sgt. Frederick Thomas of Baltimore, Md. together they raised their four children. Linda Thomas Logan (Terry), Margaret Thomas King (Alvin), Angel Thomas Spencer(dec.) and Frederick Thomas, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both her sisters Mrs. Barbara Weston and Mrs. Homeria Willliams her daughter Angel and her grand-daughter Donselena Thomas.
Margaret leaves cherished memories with Frederick Thomas Sr., Three children. 11 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and one great - great grand. Two Sisters in Law and Two Brothers in law. As well as a host of nieces, nephews and other loving friends and relatives. Also three devoted friends; Evelyn Porter, Mrs. Peaches and Mrs. Jean
Heflin.
