Mary Frances Smith Taylor was born in Alamo, Wheeler County, Georgia. She was the eldest child of the late Willie Mae Buckhannan and Charlie Smith. She recieved her formal education in the public school of Wheeler County, Georgia. Frances or "Mema" as she was affectionately called was born August 29, 1944. She had one brother Lonnie Smith and son-law, Lawrence Graydon to preceded her in death. Frances learned early in her life from her parents about the devotion of Lord. Professing her faith and accepting of Christ as her Lord and Savior she united with Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverend Adrien Crawford. She later moved her membership along with Reverend Crawford to Francis Chapel. She was a faithful member of Francis Chapel attended regularly and supported its varied programs and ministries. Frances remained at Francis Chapel under the leadership of Reverend Anthony King. Frances was a very hard worker who work most of her life as a private duty nurse. To her family and friends she was loving, loyal and possessed a very gentle spirit. On her days off she enjoyed fishing more than anything. On January 1, 2013 the Lord called Frances home to rest eternal rest. May her soul find , favor, peace and acceptance with the Lord. Cherishing her memories are two sons, Steve Smith (Audrey), Broxton, GA, Presley Taylor, Jr. of Minnesota; one daughter, Angela Graydon, Broxton, GA; grandchildren, Lavia Bryant, Steven Taylor, Ashley Smith, Duwasken Porter, Jada Smith. Steve Smith, Jr., Malachi and Quawntasha Williams; one great-grandchild, Kendra Smith; four sisters, Bobbie G. Smith, Bettye Smith, Helen Jones, Margaret Smith all of Broxton, GA; one brother, Curtis Buckhannan; other brothers and sisters, Antwan Thomas (Sterlyn), Broxton, GA, Prince Thomas (Monesha), Douglas, GA, Bobby Thomas (Caroline), Cecilia Rivers (James), New York; special nieces, Demetrice Smith, Sheronda Smith; special nephews, Marcus Smith, Marlon Smith, Cornelius Fredrick, Rodney Smith, Corey Smith; a cherish friend, Willie Lee Threat; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and endearing friends.
