Mrs. Rosie James, 72, was born on January 10, 1951, to the late Oliver and Lizzie Moreland in Leesburg, GA. She later met the love of her life, Howard K. James Sr. and they joined in holy matrimony in 1975. They had 47 glorious years of love together until she was called home.
Mrs. James was educated at Dunkirk High School in Dunkirk, NY. She was a devoted fan of Dougherty Comprehensive High School, Albany, GA. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She also loved watching game shows and Lifetime movies, cooking and completing crossword puzzles.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a servant of God. Mrs. James led in the church as her husband’s “Only Lady” and companion. She joined the Artesian City Chapter of the Georgia Association of Minister Wives and Minister Widows. She served as the chapter’s Key Lady for several years.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband Reverend Howard K. James, Sr; her children, Reva Renee (Ron) Hammond of Ruskin, FL, Howard (Christine) James of Albany, GA, Delphine (Jerone) Jackson of St. Louis, MO, Marvin (Daffenee) James of Albany, GA, Herman (Sha) James of Columbus, GA, Tunja (Darryl) DeBerry of Rincon, GA; her adopted sons, Tony (Ameeyah) Edwards and Arlandius Davis; her siblings, Willie, Sam, Jerry, Martha, Jaenle (Jerome), Diane (Robert), Ron, and Jesse. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Lois, James, and Leroy. During her time, she cherished her 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
