John David Hunt Jr. was born on January 12, 1944, to the late John David Hunt and Katherine Wade Hunt. He began his early education at Moultrie High School for Negro Youth and later attended William Bryant High School. A lifelong learner, John earned a bachelor's degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He continued his academic journey by attending law schools in both Oregon and California.
John honorably served his country in the United States Armed Forces for two years. Throughout his life, he was deeply committed to his community, working as a community advisor and providing valuable paralegal services to those in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Catherine Ann Hunt Parrish.
John leaves behind his children: sons Joseph Robertson of Conyers, GA, and Andre Hunt of Fort Washington, MD, and daughter Tree Lanier of Lapeer, MI. He was a grandfather of nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Cleveland Hunt of Norman Park, GA, and Tyrone Hunt of Frisco, TX; his devoted cousin Mercezee Yearby; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
John David Hunt Jr. will be remembered for his pursuit of knowledge, unique sense of humor and always doing things his own way.
