Mr. Sammy Grant Jr. Obituary

Mr. Sammy Grant Jr. was born on July 19, 1948, to the late Christine Grant and Sam Grant of Albany, Georgia. Sammy completed his education at Monroe Comprehensive High School where he graduated in 1966. He then attended vocational school and studied to be an electrician. He later enlisted into the U.S. Army and served a tour in Germany for two years. He joined the church at an early age at Pine Island Baptist church in Edison, Georgia. He later joined Greater Cutliff Grove Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. He attended Victory of Albany with his wife. He was married to Eloise Williams of Alamo, Georgia. To this union was born 3 children: Carey Grant, Sherri Lowe/Donald Lowe (who he nicknamed Socket), Judy Tyson/Brandon Tyson.

He was the grandfather of 9 grandchildren who he lovingly gave unique nicknames to. Donald (Bubba), Phaneus (Tiny), Devaughn (DJ), Savian (Sharkmouth), David (Reverend Dave), Destiny (Lil Bit), Daniel (Short round), Raina (Dora)and Kaylee (Granddaddy baby) He was the great grandfather of 6 great grandchildren.  He is survived by five sisters: Johnnie Mae Harden, Pennie White, Mellie. Battle, Christine Edwards/Horace Edwards, Judy Cochran/Melvin Cochran and one brother, Judge Grant. Three sisters preceded him in death Sammie Mae Dobbins, Mamie Pope, and Bernice Zackery. He was the uncle to a host of nieces and nephews who loved him deeply.

He will be forever in the hearts of his family, friends and all who knew him.
