Mrs. Anice Karen (Jameison) Purse

On the serene morning of April 19, 2026, we lost a remarkable soul, Anice Jamesion Purse, who passed peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital. Today, we gather to honor her extraordinary life—a life that radiated love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family, church, and friends. 

Born on July 12, 1940, in Savannah, Anice was the beloved mother of four children: Darryl Purse, Karen Jamesion, Mona Clark, and Renardius Jamesion (Nakitha). She began her educational journey in Savannah and proudly graduated from Beach High School in 1957. 

Anice was a woman whose life reflected grace, strength, and dedication. Her love for family was the cornerstone of everything she did, and she poured herself into nurturing, supporting, and uplifting those she loved. She carried herself with dignity, kindness, and a warm spirit that made everyone around her feel welcomed and cherished. 

She had a heart for service and community, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer words of wisdom and encouragement. Her faith was steadfast, guiding her through every season of life and inspiring those blessed enough to know her. 

Anice found joy in life’s simple treasures: spending time with family, sharing laughter, cooking meals filled with love, and creating memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Her presence was a gift, and her love was a light that will never fade. 

Though Anice was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sibling, Dorothy Lea Jennings, her beautiful legacy lives on through the family she adored and the many lives she impacted. 
She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Claretha Bivens of Savannah and Harriett Jackson (Terrance “T.J.”) of Miami; her children, Karen Jamesion of Savannah, Darryl Purse of Savannah, Mona Clark of Savannah, and Renardius Jamesion (Nakitha) of Savannah; along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. 

Anice’s life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, resilience, and compassion. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Let us celebrate a life well-lived and a woman well-loved—a life that reminds us to cherish family, treasure faith, and embrace one another with kindness.
